Legacy Dance Productions in Abbotsford has received a $3,000 grant from the BC Summer Games Legacy Fund 2016.

Mary Boonstra, who was the ceremonies director for the 2016 Summer Games in Abbotsford and is now one of the owners of Legacy, said the funds will be used for a program called Everybody Dance Now.

“The program will welcome children in our community of Abbotsford who have not been able to take dance classes due to financial constraints,” she said.

The full program will run on a weekend in the fall and will include a variety of dance classes and leadership courses. Meals and swag will also be included for each dancer.

The grant money will be used to build the program and cover all costs.

Boonstra owns Legacy Dance Productions with Danielle Bremner and Krista Tingley, who also believe that community engagement is essential in building relationships.
