Games Legacy Helps School Community Build New Track at Bert Bowes Middle School The community of Fort St. John is out of the starting blocks and ready to run, jump, and throw on its new track surface at Bert Bowes Middle School -- all made possible by the legacy of the Fort St. John 2020 BC Winter Games. The vision of this project, fueled by community leaders and the BC Winter Games Legacy fund, is a proud example of how the Games leave behind healthier communities.

Alumni Amongst BC Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2021 The BC Sports Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2021! Among this year's Class are six inductees with ties to Team BC and the BC Games, whose impactful careers have greatly helped advance sport in our province. The list includes former BC Games President and CEO Kelly Mann, longtime BC Games volunteers Judy Broom and David Cox, and decorated athletes Eli Pasquale, Jason Delesalle, and Gerry Gilmore.

BC Games Society Welcomes New Board Members We're very pleased to welcome Joni Frei and Hunter Sones onto our Board of Directors! Joni is an experienced athlete, coach, and administrator in the sport of softball, while Hunter is a BC Games alumnus and technology-sector professional. They will join the 13 continuing Board Members who oversee the BC Games Society and will contribute their unique expertise and leadership to build upon the Society’s success in sport and community development.

2016 BC Summer Games Board Member Honoured When the BC Summer Games came to Abbotsford in 2016, Sylvia Peary did not hesitate when asked to take on the role of Director of Registration & Results. A long-time resident of Abbotsford with a predisposition to serve, Sylvia has contributed her time, energy, passion, and leadership to the community for more than 50 years. She was selected as the 2021 recipient of the Order of Abbotsford and will have her name recorded in
the Order of Abbotsford Merit Book maintained by the Office of the Mayor.

Proof of Vaccination Required for Greater Vernon 2022 BC Winter Games To help keep the Greater Vernon 2022 BC Winter Games safe for everyone, proof of full vaccination will be required in order to take part. This includes athletes, coaches, officials, staff, volunteers, guests, and spectators.
“As this multi-sport event will attract people from every region of the province, we must take appropriate actions and precautions to help minimize the health risks for
all participants,” said Jamey Paterson, Chair of the BC Games Society Board of Directors. “We look forward to providing a safe environment as we return to staging these provincial sport events.”

Team BC Mission Staff Training For the first time since the Team BC Mission Staff for the next Canada Summer Games were selected in September 2020, an in-person training camp was held. Mission Staff gathered in White Rock for two days of team building, training of roles, and Games planning.
